The Mechanical and Production Engineering BUT (GMP) is aimed at students interested in engineering sciences, design, production and new technologies. At the end of the first two years, students who have met the evaluation criteria obtain a DUT, and at the end of the third year, the BUT is awarded.

• to develop students' skills in product development through the application of modern industrial design and production techniques

• foster the development of their thinking skills through the use of scientific and technical tools

• stimulate their spirit of initiative as well as teamwork through training in human sciences and communication

BUT GMP
  • How are the studies organized?

    Organisation of studies 

    In initial training: the teaching represents a duration of 2000 hours of teaching and 600h of projects over 3 years and 6 semesters, that is to say an average presence at the IUT of 32 hours per week.

    • In alternation:  the périodicité is of the order of 2 weeks in the company and 2 weeks à the IUT. The training runs from September to July, with 600 hours of teaching per year at the IUT. The apprenticeship in the company can be done on 1, 2 or 3 years of the BUT GMP.

    A National Programme defines the training which is made up of Teaching Units (Scientific, Technological and Communication).

  • Internships, work-study and supervised projects

    600h of projects carried out over 3 years and 6 semesters, i.e. an average of 32 hours per week at the IUT, and 22 weeks of internships (or alternation)

  • International mobility

    1 or 2 semesters available abroad

  • Recruitment via Parcoursup
  • For sandwich courses, candidates must first have met the admission criteria on file via Parcoursup. The search for a host company is the initiative of the future apprentice, and is essential for validation of the registration. The GMP department can however propose a list of companies likely to be interested in the apprenticeship.
