The aim of the BUT GEA is to train versatile managers capable of understanding the legal, digital, economic and social environment of organizations on a national and/or international scale. Their knowledge and skills are valued in the exercise of a professional activity while fitting into the specific local environment of the mountain.
Local adaptation :
CREA IUT fictitious creation of a company:
- Project allowing the application of the knowledge acquired during the training
- Accompaniment by a local consultant
- Possible presentation to the national jury of the best company at the Salon de l'Entrepreneur
2 courses are offered from the 2nd year onwards:
- Fiscal and Financial Accounting Management (GC2F) allows students to work in accounting firms or in an accounting and financial department of an organization
- Entrepreneurship and Activity Management (GEMA) allows students to perform multipurpose management functions in organizations that may lead to the creation or takeover of an activity.

How are the studies organized?
Le diplôme est composé de 1800 heures d'enseignement et de 600 heures de projets tutorés, réparties sur 3 ans soit une durée à peu près équivalente à 30 heures hebdomadaires de présence à l'IUT. Un programme pédagogique national organise la formation en 6 semestres et 5 blocs de compétences. Les mises en situation professionnelle (dont les stages) représentent 40% du temps de l'étudiant.

Internships, work-study and supervised projects
Au cours des 3 ans de BUT, les étudiants auront 600 heures de projets tutorés réparties et 24 semaines de stage (pour la formation initiale seulement).
Les stages en BUT GEA à Gap :
BUT 1 : 4 semaines en janvier/février
BUT 2 : 8 semaines en avril/mai
BUT 3 : 12 semaines en mars/juin -

Objectives of the pathway

Objectives of the pathway
The student will train to assist the manager of a company in its accounting and tax management or to work in financial or management control departments in SMEs, large public or private companies, public administrations, or in accounting firms.

Profile of the candidates
• Holders of the baccalaureate of the general route specialised courses : History, geography, politics and political science - Languages, literature and foreign cultures - Mathematics - Economic and social sciences.
• Holders of the baccalaureate in the STMG technological stream
The selection is made on the basis of the student's academic record in the first and last years of high school (grades and teacher's appreciation).
