The GEA AIX department of the IUT of Aix-Marseille offers the BUT Business and Administration Management (GEA), which prepares students for management jobs in 4 different courses:

In initial training BUT 1 and BUT 2 :

  • GC2F: Accounting, Tax and Financial Management (7 DCG equivalents, BUT 3 in initial training, preparation for the national DCG exam);
  • CG2P: Management Control and Performance Management (BUT 3 in alternation);
  • GEMA: Management, Entrepreneurship and Management of Activities specialized in the Fashion industry (BUT 3 in alternation);
  • GPRH: Management and Steering of Human Resources (BUT 3 in alternation).

In alternating training the 3 years BUT 1, BUT 2 and BUT 3:

  • CG2P: Management Control and Performance Management;
  • GPRH: Management and Steering of Human Resources.

The Business and Administration Management BUT (GEA) trains students for a wide range of professions focusing on academic and professional skills in accounting, management control, human resources management and management and entrepreneurship.

  • How are the studies organized?

    The diploma is composed of 1800 hours of teaching and 600 hours of tutored projects, spread over 3 years, which is roughly equivalent to 30 hours of weekly attendance at the IUT. A national pedagogical program organizes the training into 6 semesters and 5 skill blocks. Work placements (including internships) represent 40% of the student's time. Semesters abroad are possible with partner universities.

    The training is carried out either in initial training or in alternating training.

    Training periods of 22 to 26 weeks.

Accounting, tax and financial management course (GC2F)

  • Objectives of the pathway

    Students will train to assist company directors with accounting and tax management or to work in finance or management control departments in SMEs, large public or private companies, public administrations, banking institutions or in chartered accountancy firms.

    The GC2F course is designed to enable future graduates to work directly in the field of accounting and tax management.

    The GC2F pathway is designed to enable future graduates to be directly operational in positions where they will be responsible for the management of accounting problems;They will be responsible for management issues relating to accounting, financial, tax, management control and auditing activities.

    The GC2F pathway is one of the few diplomas and the only pathway in the BUT GEA to give equivalence in 9 of the 13 proofs included in the DCG (Diploma in Accounting and Management): Fundamentals of law | Tax law | Contemporary economics| Corporate finance | Management | Management information systems | Accounting | Business English| Professional communication.

Human Resources Management and Steering (HRMS) course

  • Objectives of the pathway

    Students are trained as HR assistants, or to assist the manager of a VSE or SME with social matters. In large organisations, they are more likely to carry out more specialised management activities in the fields of recruitment, training, job and career management, personnel administration, health and safety at work, HR communication and payroll.
    They may also work in the context of service provision activities, such as in accounting firms for employment-related matters, or in recruitment firms and training organisations. In public sector organisations, you may also work in the personnel and social relations department.
